There is a shift in the air this year. You will feel it as you move beneath the tree canopies, where 40 years of conservation have led to this moment. You will hear it first. The sound of excited children moving ahead. Searching. Running. Engaging with nature as it was always meant to be. On 4 and 5 April, we will host our third annual Easter Egg Hunt. This is not only...
Relay. Rally. Cango.
This year marked a proud milestone for Cango Wildlife as we took on the role of headline sponsor for the Klein Karoo Business Relay for the first time. On 16 October, Baron van Reede Street came alive as businesses, families, schools and supporters gathered to celebrate fitness, teamwork and community spirit in the heart of Oudtshoorn.
Organised by the Klein Karoo Atletiekfonds (KKAF), the relay has become a hallmark local event, strengthening connections across the Greater Oudtshoorn community while promoting inclusion and wellness. A total of 61 teams took to the route, reflecting the town’s diverse and enthusiastic participation.
Cango Wildlife proudly entered seven teams across the walking and running categories. Our team embraced the occasion with energy and enthusiasm, completing the two-kilometre relay legs while cheering one another on from start to finish outside Santa Fe Spur.

Adding to the festive atmosphere was Cango’s inflatable crocodile mascot, who delighted young spectators and brought smiles along the route. It's presence added a lighthearted touch that embodied the joy and unity of the evening.

Beyond the excitement, the event carried meaningful purpose. Proceeds from the relay support the KKAF’s work in developing local athletes, particularly young people facing socio-economic barriers. Funds help provide training, mentorship and life-skills support to build opportunity and confidence for promising future athletes in the region.
Cango Wildlife's leadership and staff expressed pride in supporting such an important initiative, noting that the sponsorship reflects the organisation’s commitment to uplifting the local community and investing in youth development. The atmosphere was described as vibrant, collaborative and inspiring, with strong anticipation for continued involvement in future years.
The 2025 Klein Karoo Business Relay closed with high spirits and strong turnout, reaffirming its place as a treasured annual tradition. Planning for the 2026 event is already underway, with both organisers and participants looking forward to building on this year’s success.
