Booking Terms

BOA PODS GUEST TERMS & CONDITIONS

Version 1.0 | Effective 19 October 2026

These terms apply to every private stay at BOA Pods at Cango Wildlife. Please read them before you pay, starting with the Safety section below. The Guest Guide, sent with your booking confirmation and placed in your Pod, sets out the house rules and forms part of these terms. Clauses in bold limit our liability or place risks or obligations on you; please read them carefully.

SAFETY AT BOA PODS: PLEASE READ FIRST

IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE YOU BOOK. SAFETY AT BOA PODS
BOA Pods sits beside Cango Wildlife, a working wildlife facility, in a natural setting. Some of the risks below could result in serious injury or death. We take reasonable care to manage them, but we cannot remove them entirely. We ask you to read this section, share it with everyone in your booking, and follow it throughout your stay.

Wild animals on the grounds

BOA Pods shares its grounds with wild animals, including birds, bats, mongoose, frogs, terrapins, insects, spiders and snakes. Venomous snakes occur naturally in this area.

• Never approach, touch, feed or try to move any animal.
• Keep Pod doors closed.
• Watch where you walk, especially at dusk and at night. Use a torch.
• If you see a snake or anything concerning, move away and call the BOA Lodge Manager on +27 60 776 3381. Our animal care team will assist.

The animals in the Cango Wildlife facility are kept in managed enclosures. The animal sanctuary area on the BOA Lodge grounds is not open to guests.

Bio-filter wetland dams (open water)

The bio-filter dams purify water for the conservation facility. They are open water up to 3 metres deep, deep enough for an adult or child to drown. The edges are soft and uneven and the bottom is not visible, so depth can change without warning.

• No swimming, wading or entering the water.
• Keep children well away from the edges.

Swimming pool

• The pool has no lifeguard. You swim at your own risk.
• Pool hours: 09:00 to 22:00.
• Children must be supervised by an adult in and around the pool at all times.
• No glass, diving or running at the pool.
• Do not swim after drinking alcohol.

Children

Guests under 18 must be supervised by an adult at all times, everywhere on the grounds.

Grounds, paths and the Walkway Gate

• Paths, grass and walkways may be uneven, wet with dew or slippery.
• The Walkway Gate slam-locks behind you. Check you have your key before you step through.
• Wear suitable footwear and use a torch after dark.

Weather and the natural environment

Oudtshoorn experiences extreme heat, strong sun, storms and occasional flooding. Drink water, use sun protection, and follow staff instructions during severe weather.

Fire and emergencies

• A fire extinguisher is located in every Pod.
• Emergency Assembly Point: near the big green gate at the end of the lodge grounds, at the designated sign.
• In any emergency, call the BOA Lodge Manager on +27 60 776 3381. Our security officer patrols the grounds 24 hours a day.
• South African emergency numbers: 112 from a mobile phone; ambulance 10177.

Animal Connections and activities

Animal Connections and other activities at Cango Wildlife are not included in your stay. If you book one, it carries its own risks, terms and indemnity, which you will be asked to accept before you take part.

This Safety section forms part of these terms. At checkout you confirm that you have read it, that you understand the risks it describes (including risks that could result in serious injury or death), and that you will make sure everyone in your booking reads and follows it.

1. WHO YOU ARE BOOKING WITH

BOA Pods are provided by Zindagos Accommodation (Pty) Ltd, registration number 2026/432823/07 ("Zindagos"), and operated, marketed and managed on its behalf by Cango Wildlife Ranch (Pty) Ltd, registration number 1988/003501/07, VAT number 4060106467 ("Cango Wildlife"), as its agent. Both are Zindalo Group companies.

Your accommodation agreement is with Zindagos. Cango Wildlife takes your booking and receives your payment on Zindagos's behalf, and provides guest services, breakfast and entry to Cango Wildlife. In these terms, "we" and "us" mean Zindagos and Cango Wildlife, each in its own role. The limits on liability in these terms protect both companies and the other Zindalo Group companies.

• Physical address and address for legal notices: 191 Baron van Reede Street, Oudtshoorn, 6620, Western Cape, South Africa
• Email: stay@cango.co.za | Mobile and WhatsApp: +27 60 776 3381
• Website: www.cango.co.za

"You" means the person who makes the booking (the "lead booker"). "Guests" means everyone named in the booking.

2. YOUR BOOKING

2.1 Your booking is confirmed when we receive your deposit and send you a booking confirmation.

2.2 Prices are in South African Rand and include VAT where applicable. Your stay includes accommodation, daily breakfast at the BOA Restaurant, entry to Cango Wildlife for each registered guest during their stay, and the in-Pod amenities described in the Guest Guide. Your confirmation shows the details.

2.3 The lead booker must be 18 or older and is responsible for:

• making sure all guest details are correct
• sharing these terms, including the Safety section, and the Guest Guide with every guest
• payment of all amounts due under the booking, including extras and damage

2.4 Only guests named in the booking may stay in the Pod. Maximum occupancy is 2 guests per Pod. Pets are not permitted.

3. PAYMENT

3.1 Bookings made more than 30 days before arrival: a 50% deposit is payable at booking. The balance is due 30 days before arrival. We will send you a reminder.

3.2 Bookings made 30 days or less before arrival: the full price is payable at booking.

3.3 If payment is not completed within 10 minutes at checkout, the booking is released.

3.4 If the balance is not paid by the due date, we will remind you. If it is still unpaid 3 days after the reminder, we may cancel the booking and clause 4 applies as if you had cancelled.

4. IF YOU CANCEL OR CHANGE YOUR BOOKING

4.1 You may cancel your booking at any time by email to stay@cango.co.za. The cancellation date is the date we receive your email.

4.2 The deposit (50% of the total price) is non-refundable, except as set out in clauses 4.4, 4.5 and 4.6. It reflects the dates we hold for you and the bookings we turn away.

4.3 Cancellation charges (Consumer Protection Act s17):

• More than 30 days before arrival. What we keep: The deposit (50% of the total price). What we refund: Any amount paid above the deposit.
• 30 days or less before arrival, including bookings paid in full at booking. What we keep: The deposit, plus 50% of the balance (75% of the total price). What we refund: 50% of the balance (25% of the total price).
• On the day of arrival, or no-show. What we keep: 100% of the total price. What we refund: Nothing.

4.4 Cancelling for a serious reason more than 30 days before arrival. If you cancel more than 30 days before arrival because of one of the following, and give us reasonable proof, we will refund your deposit less an administration fee of R1,000:

• serious illness or injury of a guest in the booking;
• death or serious illness of a guest's close family member;
• a government travel ban, border closure or official restriction that prevents you from travelling.

4.5 If we re-let your Pod. If we re-let the Pod for all of your cancelled nights, we will refund the amount we recover for those nights, up to the amount we kept under clause 4.3, less an administration fee of R1,000.

4.6 No cancellation fee applies if you cannot honour the booking because of your death or your hospitalisation (Consumer Protection Act s17(5)). We may ask for reasonable proof.

4.7 Changing dates instead of cancelling. More than 30 days before arrival, you may move your booking once, at no fee, to dates within 12 months of your original arrival date, keeping your deposit. New dates are subject to availability and the rates for those dates.

4.8 Early departure: if you leave early, the unused nights are charged unless we re-let the Pod.

4.9 Refunds are paid to the card used for the booking within 14 days of cancellation.

4.10 Bookings through third-party platforms. If you booked through a third-party platform (for example Booking.com or Airbnb), that platform's payment and cancellation policy applies instead of clauses 3 and 4.

5. IF WE CANCEL OR CANNOT PROVIDE YOUR STAY

5.1 If we cancel your booking for any reason other than your breach, we will refund everything you have paid, including the deposit, or offer you new dates if you prefer.

5.2 Events beyond our control. If your stay cannot go ahead, or cannot continue safely, because of an event beyond our reasonable control (for example flooding, fire, storms, road closures, a disease outbreak among the animals, an order by a public authority, or an extended failure of water or electricity supply), we will offer you new dates or a refund of the amounts you paid for the nights not provided. We are not responsible for other costs you incur, such as transport or other accommodation. Travel insurance is recommended.

6. CHECK-IN AND CHECK-OUT

6.1 Check-in is from 14:00. Please tell us your arrival time in advance. The BOA Lodge Manager will welcome you and hand over your keys.

6.2 Check-out is by 10:00. Hand your keys to the BOA Lodge Manager. Late check-out is subject to availability and may be charged.

6.3 Keys: each guest receives their own key set (Pod key and Walkway Gate key). Your key set is your entry to breakfast and to Cango Wildlife. A key set that is lost and not returned by check-out is charged at R2,500, which reflects the cost of replacing the locks for the security of all guests and the facility.

7. CHILDREN

7.1 Guests under 18 are welcome when accompanied by a parent, guardian or adult with their parent's or guardian's permission.

7.2 Children must be supervised by an adult at all times, including at the pool and near the bio-filter wetland dams. The adult responsible for the child is responsible for the child's conduct and safety.

8. HOUSE RULES

The house rules in the Guest Guide form part of these terms. In summary:

8.1 Registered guests only. No visitors on the BOA Lodge or BOA Pods grounds. Collect food deliveries at the Walkway Gate.

8.2 Main Lodge. The Main Lodge is for our Volunteer and Intern Programmes. Please do not enter it. The pool is available to you.

8.3 Smoking and vaping. No smoking or vaping (including e-cigarettes) inside the Pods. Smoking or vaping inside a Pod incurs a deep-cleaning fee of R2,500.

8.4 Quiet hours are from 22:00 to 07:00.

8.5 No weapons of any kind on the facility or grounds.

8.6 No drones.

8.7 No photographs of the animal sanctuary area on the BOA Lodge grounds. This protects the animals from poaching.

8.8 Wildlife. Do not approach, feed or handle any animal on the grounds. Keep Pod doors closed. Report snakes or anything concerning to the BOA Lodge Manager.

8.9 Water and power. Oudtshoorn is a water-scarce area. Please use water sparingly and switch off lights and appliances when you go out.

9. VISITING CANGO WILDLIFE AND ANIMAL CONNECTIONS

9.1 Your entry to Cango Wildlife is subject to the visitor rules displayed at the entrance and on our website, and to staff instructions.

9.2 Animal Connections and other activities are not part of your stay. If you book one, it is subject to its own terms and its own indemnity, which you will be asked to accept before you take part.

10. SAFETY

10.1 The Safety section at the start of these terms applies throughout your stay. You confirmed at checkout that you have read it and shared it with everyone in your booking.

10.2 In case of fire, go to the Emergency Assembly Point near the big green gate at the end of the lodge grounds.

10.3 Follow any instruction given by staff or security for your safety or the safety of the animals.

11. DAMAGE, LOSS AND EXTRAS: CARD AUTHORISATION

11.1 Pods are checked after you leave.

11.2 By accepting these terms at checkout, you authorise us to keep the card used for your booking securely on file with our payment provider and to charge it, during your stay or within 7 days after check-out, for:

• missing items, or damage to the Pod, its contents or the grounds, caused by any guest in your booking (beyond normal wear and tear), at reasonable repair or replacement cost;
• lost key sets (R2,500) and smoking or vaping cleaning fees (R2,500) (clauses 6.3 and 8.3);
• unpaid room service, laundry and other extras.

11.3 We will email you an itemised statement, with photographs where relevant, before or when we charge your card. If you dispute a charge, tell us within 14 days and we will review it in good faith.

12. OUR RESPONSIBILITY TO YOU

12.1 We will provide your stay with reasonable care and skill, and in line with your rights under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008.

12.2 Your belongings are your own responsibility. Please lock your Pod when you leave it. Although we have camera surveillance and security patrols, we are not responsible for loss of or damage to personal belongings, unless it was caused by our gross negligence or intentional conduct, or by our failure to meet a standard that the law does not allow us to exclude.

12.3 To the extent the law permits, we are not liable for injury, illness, loss or damage arising from the natural and inherent risks described in the Safety section, or from a guest's failure to follow these terms, the Guest Guide or staff instructions.

12.4 Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for gross negligence, intentional misconduct or fraud, or any right you have that cannot lawfully be excluded, including your rights under the Consumer Protection Act and any mandatory consumer rights in your country of residence.

13. ENDING A STAY FOR SERIOUS BREACH

13.1 If a guest seriously breaches these terms or the house rules, or behaves in a way that endangers people, animals or property, we may ask them to stop. If the behaviour continues, or if the breach is serious enough, we may end the stay of that guest, or of the whole booking, and ask them to leave the premises.

13.2 If we end a stay under this clause, unused nights are not refunded, except to the extent that we re-let the Pod.

13.3 Your stay is a licence to occupy short-term accommodation. It does not create a lease or any right of occupation beyond your booked dates.

14. YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION

We process personal information in line with our Privacy Notice (www.cangowildlife.com/pages/privacy-notice). By making a booking for other guests you confirm that you are authorised to make it and to share their details with us, and that you have told them how we will use them. Where a guest under 18 is included, you confirm that you are their parent or legal guardian, or have their parent's or guardian's permission.

15. COMPLAINTS

If something is not right, please tell the BOA Lodge Manager during your stay so that we can put it right. After your stay, email stay@cango.co.za. We will acknowledge your complaint within 3 business days and aim to resolve it within 14 days. Your right to approach the National Consumer Commission, a consumer court, the Consumer Goods and Services Ombud or any other forum is not limited.

16. GENERAL

16.1 Electronic acceptance. Ticking the acceptance box at checkout is your acceptance of these terms (Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002). A copy of these terms, in the version you accepted, is attached to or linked from your booking confirmation email, so that you can download, print and keep it.

16.2 Governing law. South African law governs these terms. This does not limit any mandatory consumer right under the law of your country of residence.

16.3 Severability. If any clause is found invalid, it is limited to the extent the law permits and the rest continues to apply.

16.4 Changes. The version of these terms that applies to your booking is the one you accepted at checkout.
